Our first patient

S: 65 year old Scouter, small in stature but has a big heart (no clinical symptoms however).         Social history includes adoption as a jamboree mascot.   

Chief complaint: transient vision loss. Symptoms onset after staffer got inspired to wear a    conical garden gnome hat (aka Phrygian cap) after seeing the 2026 National Jamboree Logo.    Fellow staffers observed him stumble, shuffle, and mis-organize inventory in his job at the trading post.

O: Best corrected visual acuity (w hat): No light perception RT and LT

     Best corrected visual acuity (w/o hat): 20/20 RT and LT

A: Transient visual loss, bilateral (ICD10: H53.123)

P: 3 cm circular excision of excess hat material (bilateral phrygiancapectomy). 

Happy camper now seeing 20/20
