Dr. Kayla Cook, O.D.

Meet Dr. Kayla Cook:

   Dr. Kayla N. Cook was born and raised in Guthrie, Oklahoma. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma where she graduated with honors in her Bachelor of Science degree of Biological Science. While attending Oklahoma State University she was a member of the Oklahoma State University Student Union Activities Board, as well as OSU Paddle People.

 

 She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO) in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in May of 2021. While at NSUOCO, Kayla was president of the honor society Beta Sigma Kappa (BSK) and was awarded the BSK Silver Medal Award in 2021 . Kayla also served as a committee member of the volunteer organization SVOSH - which organizes yearly mission trips to Honduras to provide eye-care services to those in need. While in school, Dr. Cook received the 2020 BVA Outstanding Student Clinician Award as well as the AAOF Practice Excellence Award.

 

Dr. Cook graduated top of her class in 2021 and went on to complete a one-year ocular disease residency at Clay-Rhynes Eye Clinic in Durant, Oklahoma & RGB Eye Associates in Sherman, Texas. During her residency training, Dr. Cook became proficient in managing ocular diseases including acute care, red eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, dry eye and more. 

 

In her spare time, Dr. Cook enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her dog, Chloe.
